The wonderful Cecily White produced and narrated the book for me. When I first heard her speak, I knew she would be perfect! Her soft, soothing voice complemented the tone of the work – hopeful, uplifting and with a little humour thrown in here and there and the results were … well, you can now judge for yourselves!

Fibromyalgia My Personal Experiences

Why I Wrote This Book

When I was told that I had Fibromyalgia I had no real idea what the illness was and how it would affect me. I thought it was something I would recover from in time or “get over” and then be able to move on with my life.
I left the clinic, came home and googled Fibromyalgia. And then I fell apart.
The doctor had suggested medication and counselling, both of which I turned down. I told him I did not want to be reliant on drugs for the rest of my life and as for the counselling, the only thing wrong with me was I felt a little emotional.
I felt overwhelmed by the amount of information available about my illness and all of it seemed bad.
Finally, I gave in and went back to the doctor. Some pain killers, an anti-depressant and a course of counselling later and I began to get my life back.
Fibromyalgia is a chronic illness but that does not mean that I have to be a victim.
Neither do you.
This book shares some of the things that have helped me. There is no guarantee that all or indeed any of these will help you but at the very least they will give you the tools to feel that you are in control of your own life again.
Never give up.
Do not be afraid to try things. Sometimes the smallest things can make a big difference.
Always remember; you have Fibromyalgia, you are not Fibromyalgia!
