Blah Blah Blah

Been feeling a bit “Blah” lately – probably because of a reaction to the flu jab – so been finding it hard to concentrate.

Started plotting a new novel but it’s not coming together yet – I’ve never actually tried plotting one before – perhaps try again in a week or two.

Did some marketing but lack of funds kind of limits that! Still, did the usual social media whirl etc.

Started a Thunderclap for “A Little Book of Horror” – due for release October 12th

Pre-order Here or Support Thunderclap Here (it’s FREE)

Finally sent off an assignment for a course I’m doing.

Still feeling “Blah”.

Opened up new novel file – I’m twenty thousand words into a new historical romance – and a couple of hours and two thousand words later, I’m not feeling “Blah” any more!

The secret?

Just do it!

Stop procrastinating and just make an effort. It will come. Give it the right time and place and anything can be accomplished!

Must get back to the novel now!

Take Time to Smell the Roses

Well, I am currently working on a few different projects.

  • The Girl in the Shadows Part 3 – Editing
  • The Girl in the Shadows Part 4  – Writing
  • A Paranormal Romance Novel (1) – Writing (Almost ready for first edit)
  • A Paranormal Romance Novel (2) – Writing
  • Irish Paranormal Haunts Part 2 – Researching

So, lots of things to keep me busy.

I used to think I’d never finish the first book but now, I have so many things on the go and I know they will all get done in their own time.

Perhaps that’s the secret.

Let things happen as they will. Do not try to force them.

And always take time to smell the roses!

Character Surprises!

I am now just over half way through the second part of my Period Drama Novel. I can not believe how this novel seems to be writing itself. The words still flow but even though I know where she will end up, I have no idea how my main character will arrive at her destination!

She takes turns and tangents everywhere! I sit down to write a preplanned idea and she decides that it is not the way to go and immediately goes off in a different direction.

She has just taken up a new career. When I first came up with her character, there was no suggestion that she would ever work, much less have her own career!

This girl really has a life of her own. I can see her clearly in my mind and know a lot about her but every day I look forward to her revealing more of her personality!

My Fingers may Drop off!

Decided to write a small bit more of my novel today. Got a bit carried away and over 1200 words later I thought I would take a break as I write longhand. My fingers were cramping but my brain was still racing.

I fired up the laptop intending to play a few facebook games or catch up with peeps on twitter.

I couldn’t resist it could I?

I’ll just type up a few pages of the novel and edit as I go. 1500 words later my wrists as well as my fingers are cramping.

Time to take a break.

Open wordpress.

Start typing new post…..

Redemption by Clara Grace Walker

I have just finished reading the third book in this series. Gratification and Gossip being numbers one and two.

This is a fast paced murder mystery, thriller series. Each book tells a different story but the characters intertwine and by the end of Redemption you truly feel that you personally know them all.

Slick, sexy and seductive, these books are an absolute must for any fans of the murder mystery and thriller genres.

I simply could not put them down and the word “page turner” certainly holds true.

Handsome, sexy men, and strong, beautiful women this series has it all. A strong storyline in each book with plenty of sub plots draws the reader in and holds the attention.

A Definite 5 Stars from me!!!!

GRATIFICATION (Desire Never Dies Book 1)

Gossip (Desire Never Dies Book 2)

Redemption (Desire Never Dies Book 3)

Choosing a book

What makes you click that “add to cart” button?

You go to your favorite book site. You put your genre of choice into the search box. The list comes up. You start scrolling through. Suddenly, you see it. The Book.

What makes you stop there, at that particular book? Are you even aware of why you have stopped there?

I know what makes me stop. Think about it and let me know if one of these makes you stop.

If your reason is not on the list feel free to add a comment below.

Finally!!! A novel or three in progress!!!

After years of thinking I should stick to short stories or non fiction I finally found the inspiration.
And then inspiration became a short story.
The short story turned into a longer story.
The longer story turned into three longer stories.
20,000 words in and the well is getting fuller every day. I can see the story right to the end and even if it never becomes a bestseller it is just bubbling to be born.
I’ll keep you up to date here and when the first draft has been edited I’ll post a sample to give you a taster….
